The Higher Education scenario has undergone a sea change due to globalization. The need for continual learning is important for improved Teaching Skills and Professional Development of faculty. To create a culture of teaching excellence, the Centre for Human Resource Development (CHRD) was established in the year 2005-06.
From the year 2006-07, intense Spoken English classes for UG Students who came from Tamil Medium schools were organized. The Centre caters to the professional needs of the faculty and support staff, as well as the need for language proficiency in students.
The Centre began organizing skill development programmes for faculty members to enhance their proficiency in communication and training programmes on computer skills for support and administrative staff.
The Centre has Coordinators who organise need based training programmes for Teaching and Non-teaching faculty under the guidance of the Principal and Deans of Academic Affairs.
