Higher education today is undergoing significant transformation due to global competitions and technology revolution. Faculty in institutions of higher Education are challenged to continuously enhance their professionalism to provide relevant and useful academic experiences to students. Accordingly, all faculty need to be confident and competent in their fields of study . This could be achieved by organizing workshops, seminars and training programmes.

LDC established the Centre for Human Resource Development in August 2005 to train and develop both teaching and non-teaching staff, by providing appropriate opportunities and resources, for all staff to strive for excellence engaging in the continual process of learning. The Centre hopes to provide different professional enhancement programmes at three levels for the Lady Doak College team-new recruits , mid-level & senior level faculty. The center also hopes to extend its service to other institutions
