The essence of chemistry is not only to discover but to invent and above all to create

Thereby the activities of the club is organized in a view

  • To train the discoverers.
  • To lift irrational fears and rejections
  • To develop the competitive spirit, the scientific attitude in order to fight the obscure, the deceitful and the irrational.
  • To generate enthusiasm and encourage the interest of young people in chemistry.
  • To shoulder the responsibility of minimizing the pollution around us.


  • SPARK 2012, an intercollegiate meet was held on January 31, 2012. Eighty three students from eleven different colleges participated in the event.  Competitions like Battle of the brain, Model Making, Brain Teaser, Green Graphix, Ad-Act, Chem-Hunt, Power Word and Mr. Chemist / Ms. Chemist were conducted. The overall shield was bagged by Gandhigram Rural Institute.
  • Career guidance was given to the outgoing students by the Asst. Placement Officier. The programme was organized to strengthen the soft skills.
  • Several competitions were held within the department to develop the participation of students.
  • Fun learning of Chemistry was promoted through songs, dances and skits
