Indian education system is regarded as one of the major contributors to the progress of the country. Commerce education in particular develops the required knowledge and skills for the effective management of Trade, Commerce and Industry. It is a dynamic and fast changing discipline keeping pace with the global scenario. Further, commerce education serves as a catalyst to the socio-economic progress of any region.
In addition, commerce education creates a broader outlook in balancing the environmental demands, facilitating the youth to take on the right course of action in pursuit of their goals. Moreover, the focus of the proposed new national policy on education seeks to create conditions to improve the quality of teaching, learning & assessment, and promote transparency in the management of education. It is high time that educationists as nation builders, realize and foresee the unprecedented need for reviewing the commerce curriculum notably through redesigning the existing curriculum. The new curriculum design may be aligned with the recent business practices keeping in mind the current trends and demands and facilitating quality learning to impart holistic education to students that fosters excellence.
