The course at Lady Doak is designed to provide students with hands on field experiences by observing and working with reputed and professional organisations working for social change. Students are also given opportunities to work as interns and learn professional competencies through actual work experiences.

Our students are engaged with field work for 24 continuous days in all the semesters.
The first semester is where the students are exposed to general social work placements.
When coming to the second semester they are being trained in the field of community development as it is a part of the specialisations.
Whereas in the third and fourth semester they have been exposed to field of Human Resource Management and Medical & Psychiatric Social Work.
Block Placement In any one specialisation for 24 days.
Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) exists but with these institutions for mutual collaboration for collaborative research, student exchange, participation in research workshops and other academic endeavors.
PG Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy (PGDCP) (Since 2008)
The Department of Social Sciences has always offered innovative courses based on the demand of the students as well as the need of the society. One such innovative programme was the introduction of a Certificate Programme in “Basic Skills of Counseling” for a semester from the year 2007 for the outgoing Undergraduate and Post graduate students. However taking in to consideration the need of the hour, the department has taken a further step by offering an extensive post graduate diploma in counseling and psychotherapy from the year 2011.
